WASHINGTON, DC – Today, following news that Facebook has botched its pre-election ad ban by already blocking pre-approved ads, democratic voter targeted digital advertising firm DSPolitical released the following statement:
“With just days to go until the most important election in our nation’s history, Facebook has botched the rollout of its pre-election ban on new political ads by blocking already approved ads from potentially thousands of Democratic campaigns up and down the ballot – including Vice President Joe Biden,” said Mark Jablonowski, managing partner and chief technology officer at DSPolitical. “This turn of events is hardly surprising. Facebook and other large platforms have pursued a headline-grabbing but ill-conceived strategy of banning ads from political campaigns rather than focusing their considerable resources on fighting the spread of demonstrably false organic content and the proliferation of white nationalism.”
