
Ryan Fanning serves as President of DSPolitical, where he leads the day-to-day operations of the business and oversees execution of the company’s strategic plan.
Ryan previously served as DSPolitical’s Chief of Staff, playing a critical role in driving progress on company goals, overseeing interdepartmental special projects, and shaping organizational strategy. He joined DSPolitical in 2015 as Vice President, tasked with formalizing the company’s media strategy, upskilling execution teams, and launching the firm’s West Coast operations. His leadership of the programmatic trading and media planning teams significantly expanded DSPolitical’s technical capabilities and service offerings.
Throughout his tenure at the company, Ryan has served as chief strategist to DSPolitical’s largest partners, including presidential campaigns, statewide ballot initiatives, senate races, and gubernatorial races. His strategic work has earned multiple industry awards, including recognition for “Innovation in Media Buying” and “Best Use of New Technology.”
Before joining DSPolitical, Ryan was the Digital Director at Washington Media Group, where he led digital strategy with a focus on paid media for Fortune 40 companies, industry organizations, and non-profits. He has also held digital strategy and paid media roles at Precision Network, Bully Pulpit Interactive, and the Democratic National Committee.
Ryan is a graduate of The George Washington University with a degree in Political Science and minor concentrations in Philosophy and History. In 2018, he was named a Rising Star by Campaigns & Elections magazine. He lives in northern Virginia with his wife, two children, and a long-haired dachshund named Ophelia.
