WASHINGTON, DC – This evening, DSPolitical partner and Chief Technology Officer Mark Jablonowski was recognized as “Technology Leader of the Year” by Campaigns & Elections magazine as part of its first ever “CampaignTech Awards” at the publication’s CampaignTech East conference in the nation’s capital.
“It is hard to think of anyone working in the digital political space who has had a larger impact on down-ballot Democratic campaigns over the past few years than Mark Jablonowski,” said Eli Kaplan, DSPolitical founding partner. “No one is more deserving of this recognition and I think it is safe to say hundreds of down-ballot Democrats would likely agree with me. Clients have reached tens-of-millions of voters and constituents because of Mark’s work.”
As a partner and the chief technology officer at DSPolitical, Jablonowski envisioned and oversaw the development of DemocraticAds.com, the company’s award-winning self-serve voter targeted digital advertising platform that puts the same technology used by national campaigns with huge budgets into the hands of local and down-ballot Democrats and progressives. The platform has revolutionized the way local campaigns and causes reach voters.
Since its 2014 launch, Jablonowski has led his team through thousands of hours of fine-tuning and deployed numerous upgrades to the platform. In 2016, DemocraticAds.com partnered with NGP VAN, the primary voter engagement tool for nearly every Democratic campaign in America. The partnership put DSPolitical’s self-serve platform at the fingertips of thousands of Democratic campaigns by empowering users to create their own custom target lists and advertise to them online within just a few clicks. As a result, use of the platform spread rapidly. In fact, during the 2016 election cycle more than 500 campaigns used it to serve ads in all 50 states. Campaigns & Elections previously recognized DemocraticAds.com with its prestigious 2017 Reed Award for “Best Self-Serve Platform.”
As chief technology officer, Jablonowski does more than just build and deploy great public-facing tech products; he is also responsible for the company’s advertising platform which has delivered billions of impressions for thousands of clients. It is now the most scalable, fastest, and reliable online advertising platform and is viewed as a model across industries. During his tenure at DSPolitical, he has also pioneered new offline to online data matching capabilities that are constantly being viewed as the gold-standard for data onboarding.
Jablonowski has been building revolutionary platforms and managing large, complex tech stacks for more than a decade. Before joining DSPolitical, he served as the IT Special Projects Manager and Regional IT Director for the historic 2008 Obama campaign. There, he was responsible for finding innovative uses of technology and for keeping the campaign’s infrastructure running smoothly. This led to his work as Chief Technology Officer for Obama’s first Presidential Inaugural Committee, where he oversaw all technical, communication, and data projects for the most open and accessible inauguration in American history.
While working on the Obama campaign, Jablonowski co-founded Atlas Voter Protection, an online tool that the Obama campaign used to manage its voter protection operation. The tool was further developed and used by the Democratic National Committee for multiple elections and was translated to Arabic and used by the Free Egyptians Party during the 2012 presidential elections in Egypt.
